After an intensive, multi-day audit by an independent BRCGS-approved certification body, PURE FOOD MANUFACTURER is proud to announce that we have achieved the BRCGS Global Standard for Food Safety Grade AA+ — the highest possible grade under this globally recognized certification scheme.
This achievement places PURE FOOD among an elite group of food manufacturers worldwide who have demonstrated exceptional food safety management systems, operational excellence, and a deeply embedded culture of quality.
What Is BRCGS Certification?
The BRCGS (Brand Reputation Compliance Global Standard) Global Standard for Food Safety is one of the most widely recognized GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) benchmarked certification schemes. It is specified or required by many of the world's largest retailers, food service companies, and manufacturers as a prerequisite for doing business.
BRCGS certification evaluates a food manufacturing facility across nine comprehensive sections:
- Senior management commitment and continuous improvement
- The food safety plan (HACCP)
- Food safety and quality management system
- Site standards
- Product control
- Process control
- Personnel
- High-risk, high-care, and ambient high-care production zones
- Requirements for traded products
The grading system ranges from AA+ (highest) through AA, A, B, C to D. An AA+ grade is awarded to facilities that pass the full announced audit with fewer than 5 minor non-conformities — a testament to comprehensive, consistent compliance.
What This Means for Our Clients
For our global clients — importers, distributors, and retail chains — the BRCGS AA+ certification provides concrete assurance in several critical areas:
- Retailer Acceptance: Major retailers across Europe, North America, and increasingly worldwide require BRCGS certification. Our AA+ grade eliminates a key barrier to shelf placement in premium retail channels.
- Audit Efficiency: Many clients can reduce or eliminate their own facility audits, relying on our BRCGS certification, saving time and cost on both sides.
- Risk Reduction: The rigorous BRCGS framework ensures preventive controls are in place at every stage, significantly reducing food safety and quality incident risk.
- Regulatory Alignment: BRCGS requirements align closely with FDA FSMA, EU food law, and other major regulatory frameworks, simplifying compliance documentation.
"Achieving BRCGS AA+ is not just about passing an audit — it reflects our team's daily commitment to food safety excellence. Every employee, from the production floor to senior management, contributed to this achievement. This certification gives our clients the confidence that PURE FOOD operates at the highest international standards."
The Journey to AA+
The path to BRCGS AA+ certification involved a company-wide effort spanning over 12 months:
Phase 1 — Gap Analysis (Q1-Q2 2025): Comprehensive review of existing systems against BRCGS Issue 9 requirements. Identified areas for enhancement in documentation, training, and facility controls.
Phase 2 — System Enhancement (Q2-Q3 2025): Upgraded food safety management system documentation. Enhanced traceability exercises to achieve < 2-hour full forward and backward traceability. Strengthened supplier approval and raw material risk assessment programs.
Phase 3 — Facility Improvements (Q3-Q4 2025): Invested in additional environmental monitoring equipment. Upgraded personnel hygiene facilities. Enhanced pest management and waste control programs.
Phase 4 — Training & Culture (Q4 2025-Q1 2026): All-staff food safety culture training. Internal auditor retraining. Mock audits and corrective action drills.
Phase 5 — Certification Audit (May 2026): Successful completion of the full BRCGS audit with 3 minor non-conformities — all closed within 48 hours.
What's Next
While BRCGS AA+ is a significant milestone, our commitment to continuous improvement means the journey never stops. Over the coming year, we will:
- Conduct quarterly internal audits to maintain and improve our systems
- Invest in advanced rapid pathogen detection technology for our lab
- Expand our environmental monitoring program to cover additional zones
- Continue all-staff food safety culture training with updated modules
